My name is Steve Jackson, and I’m excited to be part of the Somers Youth Football (SYF) Board of Directors! My wife and I have four sons and have lived in town for nearly ten years. My experience with football includes ten years as a player at the elementary, secondary (middle school and high school), and collegiate levels during which time I grew to love the competitive, physical, mental, and team-related aspects of the sport. In addition, I have spent thirteen years as a high school coach in Westchester County, including the past seven years as a member of the Somers HS coaching staff. As a coach I deal with a variety of administrative issues such as equipment distribution, scheduling, and conflict resolution in situations involving parents, players, and other teams. Also, I have witnessed firsthand how a successful youth program translates to success at the high school level, most notably on the sidelines of SHS’s 2021 Section 1 Bowl Championship and 2016 New York State Championship. I am grateful for SYF's impact in our town and look forward to helping it progress.
